Three times a day, Daniel opened his window and prayed. Then some jealous men talked the king into signing a rule that nobody could pray at all, and a signed rule in Babylon could never be changed.

Daniel stood at his window with his hand on the shutter. And then he opened it anyway. What happens next is dark and deep and full of lions. But so is God’s answer: “My God sent his angel. And his angel shut the mouths of the lions.”

Along the way, Tovi, the smallest mouse in Babylon, asks your child a question, so the story becomes a conversation instead of a monologue.
