The story of God Made Everything Good, retold for kids
In the beginning, there was only darkness. Then God spoke: “Let there be light!” And there was light. God called the light day and the darkness night.
Day by day, God made more. He made the sky and the seas, the dry land and every tree and flower. He hung the sun, the moon and all the stars in the sky. He filled the water with fish and the air with birds, and the land with animals big and small.
Then God made the first man, Adam, and the first woman, Eve. He placed them in a beautiful garden and loved them very much. When God looked at everything He had made, He saw that it was very good. On the seventh day, God rested.
But Adam and Eve made a wrong choice. They ate from the one tree God had told them not to eat from, and they hid. God came looking for them. He was sad, but He still cared for them and made them warm clothes. God never stopped loving them, and He never stops loving us.
